What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a science, philosophy, and art based on a powerful premise. The brain and spinal cord communicate with every organ, tissue, and structure in the body through a series of nerves. These nerves exit the spinal column through the freely movable vertebrae of the spine. The vertebrae, however, have the potential to misalign creating a subluxation. Doctors of chiropractic are specially trained to identify subluxations, and correct them through specific chiropractic adjustments. This facilitates proper nervous system function. As a result, the body is more capable of fighting infections and healing properly.

What is vertebral subluxation?

Your spine is made up of small joints called vertebrae. These small joints may become slightly misaligned due to repetitive stress, chemical imbalances, and emotional stresses which irritate the nerves. When the nerve isn’t functioning correctly, it can result in symptoms impacting organs, muscles and other systems of the body. Subluxations can occur in other joints of the body such as the pubic symphysis, wrists, and ankles to name a few.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment facilitates gentle mechanical and/or physical force to restore proper motion to spinal segments to remove nerve interference allowing the body to improve its function, resulting in a better expression of health.

Do medical doctors refer to chiropractors?

There is a growing trend of obstetricians, pediatricians and family doctors entrusting their patients in the hands of chiropractors. There are aspects of health and wellness that are simply out of the medical scope of practice. It is important to note that our doctors are considered primary care physicians and therefor are not required a referral from a medical doctor to practice. Our doctors are experienced and knowledgeable to handle each unique patient case.

Are chiropractors anti-medical doctors?

Our doctors are advocates for integrated health. This means that they work with other practitioners to provide you with the best care. While

our doctors may approach health and wellness differently than your medical doctor, our doctors recognize the important role that your medical doctor, or any other practitioner, can play in you and your family's wellness. Our team is skilled to discern whether chiropractic is best in each case and will discuss other options that may be right for you.

Can chiropractic care be affordable for my entire family?

Prioritizing your family's health and wellness can be daunting. It is hard to know what is right for you and your family.

Families that receive wellness chiropractic care usually report the overall improved quality of life of their family members. They further report with their improved health they often are saving money, which makes it affordable to have the entire family in for care. Of course, knowing that you’ve provided your child the opportunity to have a healthy adulthood is the greatest benefit.
